The NOOT Forum is an online discussion group for owners and residents of The Neighborhoods of Old Town.

HOW TO SIGN UP:

It’s easy to join the NOOT Forum. Just send an email, including your name and street address, to:  nootforum+subscribe@googlegroups.com with a copy to oldtownlancpa@gmail.com.

You will receive a message from the NOOT Forum noting your request to join. Reply to this email (no content required) to confirm your request. You will then receive an email alerting you that your request is pending, and once the Forum Managers have reviewed it, a final email indicating that your request has been approved.

HOW TO SET PREFERENCES

Once a member, you can set your subscription preference by going to: groups.google.com/g/nootforum/membership.

By default, you will receive an email notification anytime a message is posted. 

Alternatively, you can select from these options:

•    Digest – Up to 25 complete messages are combined into single emails and sent daily.
•    Abridged – Summaries of up to 150 messages are combined into single emails and sent daily.
•    No email – Messages from the group are not sent.

HOW TO SEND A MESSAGE

To post a message to the Forum, send an email to:  nootforum@googlegroups.com or visit groups.google.com/g/nootforum and choose the “+ New Conversation” button in the upper, left-hand corner of the screen.

FORUM ARCHIVES:

Sent message are available at:  groups.google.com/g/nootforum.

You will see all messages in chronological order and can search for a particular message by entering a term in the “Search” box.

 

FORUM GUIDELINES

We encourage the participation of all of our NOOT community. All messages post to the Forum immediately, without edits, but Forum Managers have discretion to remove non-complying posts.

• All posts should include the full name, first and last, of the writer. 

• All posts must be civil in tone and language.

• Commercial advertising is not permitted.

• Members who have used professional or commercial services or products may send a post to the Forum recommending (or not recommending) such services or products to assist other Forum members providing they have no financial interest or institutional affiliation.​

 

BEST PRACTICES:

• "Thank You" messages should be avoided.

• Please do not reply to an existing message when sending a message on a new topic. Start a new conversation instead. This will make searching the archives more useful.

• Remember that if you send a message to the Forum and also address it to or “cc” it to members, they will receive two copies to deal with and delete.

• It is good practice to truncate messages with many prior messages (each of which may contain prior messages). Delete anything that is not germane to your message.
