Neighborhood Association

A Neighborhood Association was formed in the early 1990's with the goal of promoting cooperation and goodwill among the residents of the neighborhood. Bylaws were developed which established a slate of officers elected by the general membership and operating committees to be created and staffed as required.  Membership is voluntary and no dues are collected by the Association.

The Operating Committee of the Association serves as a liaison between City regulators and the residents of the neighborhood to support city ordinances and community action programs that will have a positive impact on the quality of life of a city neighborhood. Internally the Association works to maintain open and friendly relationships among neighbors and encourages projects that will enhance and beautify the neighborhoods.

To that end, the Association coordinates neighborhood activities for all residents and property owners including an annual dinner, a summer picnic and a chili contest plus monthly "hump day" meet-ups at local restaurants.  Volunteer work days are scheduled for mulching and maintaining two city parks within the neighborhood and hanging holiday decorations on the lamp posts, planters are "adopted" by residents to beautify the neighborhood and weekly trash pick up crews clean the neighborhood streets.  Every other year the Association and a team of volunteers host the House and Garden tours.  These activities greatly enhance the quality of life for the residents and are part of what makes this such a special place to live.
